  • Joni has over a decade of experience representing clients with intellectual property transactions in the areas of entertainment, arts, music, fashion and luxury goods law. Her trademark docket includes clients from all over the world. Joni consistently earns Avvo’s Client’s Choice Award in entertainment law.

    Joni’s background gives her a unique perspective of the literary and fashion law landscapes. The book she co-authored, Feng Shui Love, hit the “Chick-lit” world with complementary merchandise and design lines. Her experience in the fashion modeling industry landed her on The Katie Couric Show. The episode highlighted the difficulties child models encounter and parental involvement in the their children’s careers.

    Joni has a master’s degree in criminal justice and is a Virginia licensed private investigator. This background has proven valuable in working with authorities to have counterfeit goods removed from online sites like eBay. Joni was a law Clerk to the Honorable Harry L. Carrico, Supreme Court of Virginia. Prior to law school, Joni had a career as a certified mediator in Virginia and Florida, where she successfully settled numerous civil cases.

  • Born and raised in Virginia, Mike played baseball at Emory University ('05) before earning his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law ('08). That same year, he passed the Virginia Bar and joined Hollingsworth LLP, an internationally recognized litigation firm in Washington, D.C. At Hollingsworth, he worked on a wide range of complex litigation matters, including product liability, toxic torts, motor vehicle, and wrongful death cases.

    In 2013, Mike stepped away from full-time law practice to conceive, launch, and grow a line of food establishments, with locations that continue to operate today. This hands-on entrepreneurial experience gave him a deep understanding of what it takes to start, run, and scale a business (in the notoriously difficult restaurant industry); insight he now uses to advise clients with both legal and business goals in mind.

    Mike returned to legal practice in 2022, joining Schroder Davis in an Of Counsel position. Outside the office, he is a film buff who enjoys writing, hiking, camping, fishing, and treasure hunting (as both a participant and a creator). He once built, wired, and plumbed a house from the ground up, with no prior building experience. He is a lifelong fan of the Baltimore Orioles.

He established a highly successful independent artist management company in Los Angeles, CA. In that role, he developed working relationships with major industry leaders such as CAA, United Talent Agency, and Live Nation among countless others. Evan performed as a nationally touring artist based out of LA for 10 years.
